My window a/c unit gets cooler than my outdated portable unit

I just moved into a sunroom that my wife and I converted into a third bedroom.

My mom is getting old plus needs some help everyday.

Since she was living in a one bedroom, one bathroom home, converting the sunroom was the only choice we had for accommodating her in our home. The project took awhile plus a bit of careful plus meticulous work, however transitioning the room was simple enough. She had plastic windows that were replaced with storm proof, double pane glass windows. My wife and I replaced the aluminum frame that the outdated windows connected to, then installed a drop ceiling to cover the ugly aluminum overhead. We even added some light fixtures before finishing the new ceiling. The floor wasn’t difficult either, since it had a well-sealed concrete finish already. We added new stone plus now it looks amazing. However, there was the taxing idea of cooling plus heating this new space. My wife and I knew some people who undertook a similar project and they only added an opening for a vent above their sliding glass door that connected the room for the rest of their house. This wasn’t ideal, because without proper ductwork connected to the vent, there isn’t an air stream to push the chilly air into our hot sunroom. We tried a portable a/c unit at first, however the equipment we purchased was too loud plus seemed inefficient when we got our electricity bill. We would’ve never guessed that a window a/c unit would solve our Heating as well as Air Conditioning desires. After some searching, we found the best equipment that fits perfectly in one of the windows of our new living room. It is not as loud as the portable a/c unit plus it seems like it’s twice as effective at cooling the former sunroom.
