No matter how much you may want something, the timing may not work out to make it happen.
I wanted to be an HVAC technician.
I had been dreaming of this since I graduated high school. Unfortunately, I was already on my way to being a dad, when I graduated. I had to get a job and take care of a family, when I was only eighteen. My wife and I made it all work, but I had to give up my dream of being an HVAC technician. My wife saw an ad where the local college was offering night courses. One of the classes they offered was for HVAC certification. I knew night classes would work since I still had to work all day. I wasn’t sure if we could afford my going to class. She looked at me and told me that our youngest was now in school. There was no reason she couldn’t go to work and help with the house bills while I got my HVAC certification. I spent the next eight months taking courses at night. I got my HVAC certification and opted to then take some business courses. My wife was doing so well at the hospital, that she insisted I get courses so I could eventually not only have my certification, but possibly have my own HVAC company. She siad if that went well she was going to go to school for nursing, or to be a PA in the obstetrics department. I guess I had a lot of studying to do if I were to be the future owner of an HVAC company.
