Every time my neighbor’s air conditioner turns out it makes a terrible sound.
- It literally screeches.
Even though they are in a separate house I find this air conditioner sound to be really annoying. It wakes me up at night sometimes and it makes me jump almost every time I hear it. It sounds like some ghostly being is coming out of the netherworld. It is terrible. I have talked to my neighbor about hiring an HVAC company to look at their air conditioner. I have even recommended a few good local HVAC companies. However, they refuse to fix the problem. I don’t believe they have even called out an HVAC company at all. I know that not everyone can afford HVAC repair so I made a point in telling them that at least one of those HVAC companies takes payments. I have also mentioned that that sound could be a sign of a serious problem. In other words, it might cost them a lot more later if they don’t fix it now. And yet, the air conditioner still keeps screeching on without repair. I don’t know what else to do about it. I wear earplugs at night but they don’t help a heck of a lot. I am close to making a noise complaint but I am not sure it will do any good. If this goes on much longer I just might pay to have the air conditioner fixed myself. Either that, or just go over in the middle of the night and take an axe to their coolant line and force them to call an HVAC repair company. Of course, I wouldn’t really do that but I have lain awake at night and fantasized about doing it.
