I like using custom-chop sheet metal ductwork

After a really long time floating from one job to the next, I’m now in the corporation of buying and selling residential properties.

This started with a small apartment that I inherited from a deceased relative. I really wanted to live in the inherited home and keep it in the family, but I couldn’t handle the financial burden of owning several homes at the same time. Being forced to put the home on the market was a sad experience, but there was some good that came out of it. I had a great realtor who saw a ton of potential in my dead relatives house, and he gave me some easy and quick modifications to increase the value higher than I would’ve ever imagined. He made a sizable commission after the sale, and I made thousands of dollars in equity along with the expected sale price. I obtained another home with some of the currency, did the same thing with the same realtor, and now I currently own several properties. Before I sell them again, I do several things to prepare them for the sale. Making sure the ductwork and central HVAC unit is in a safe and working condition is an immense priority. Sometimes this involves repairing the entire ventilation system. For years, I used to install the cheap plastic ductwork called, flex duct. Imagine a flexible vent hose that can be attached to the back of your clothes dryer. Now imagine if you wrapped it in insulation, then covered it with a thin layer of aluminum so it could still bend and contort in any direction you wanted. It’s cheap and easy to install, but it doesn’t last long compared to ductwork made from sheet metal. Tiny holes tend to form in many places, making it leaky and hard to repair in the long run. If I want to increase the value of the home that already needs new ductwork to begin with, I constantly go with custom-chop sheet metal ductwork.

After numerous years of floating from one job to the next, I’m now in the business of reselling residential properties.

It all began with a small condo that was inherited from a dead relative.

As much as I wanted to keep the condo, I couldn’t handle the financial burden that it brought. Being forced to sell the small condo was a sad day, but there was good that came from it. I had an incredible realtor who saw a ton of potential in the condo, and she helped me make a few easy and simple modifications to get the value up higher for the sale. She made a sizable commission, while I acquired thousands of dollars in equity along with the sale. I bought a home with the money I made, and did the same thing with the same realtor. A few years later, and I’m sitting on more than six properties at the moment. Before I rotate them out, I do some handiwork before I resell them. Insuring the ductwork and central Heating and A/C program are in working condition is my biggest priority. Occasionally, this involves replacing or fixing the entire ventilation system. For years, I installed the cheap, flex ductwork, which is plastic. Imagine the stretchy vent hose that gets attached to the back of your clothes dryer. Now, you can imagine wrapping it within insulation, then covering it with a transparent layer of aluminum so it can still contort and bend in any direction you desire. It’s cheap and simple to install, but the longevity isn’t wonderful compared to ductwork made from sheet metal. Tiny holes will appear throughout, making it leaky and difficult to repair. If I want a higher value in the property that already needs modern ductwork to begin with, I constantly go with custom-cut sheet metal ductwork.

I am not a fan of plastic flex HVAC duct in my renovations

After multiple years of floating from one career to the next, I’m now selling and buying residential properties. It all started when there was a small house inherited from a relative who passed. As much as I wanted to live in a small house myself, I couldn’t handle the financial burden at the time. Being forced to put the house on the market was an upsetting experience, however there was some good that came out of it. I had a friendly realtor who saw a ton of potential in the home, as well as offered to help me make a few adjustments to get the property value up higher than I would’ve ever dreamed of. My realtor made a big commission as well as I earned thousands of dollars in equity on top of the currency I expected to make before any of the handiwork was done. I bought a house with some of the currency I had leftover and did the same thing with the same realtor. Three years later, I’m sitting on five properties. Before I sell any of them, I do several things to prepare them for the market. Insuring the HVAC duct as well as central Heating as well as A/C systems are in working order is a huge priority to me. Sometimes, this involves fixing or replacing the whole ventilation system. I used to install the cheap plastic HVAC duct that are usually called flex duct for years. Imagine the flexible vent hose which attaches to the back of your clothes dryer. Now imagine wrapping it within insulation, then covering it with a small layer of aluminum so it can still bend as well as contort in multiple directions. It’s cheap as well as straight-forward to install, but the lifeline isn’t wonderful compared to HVAC ducts made from sheet metal. Tiny holes can come up in multiple places, making it leaky as well as hard to fix. If I want more value out of a home that already needs some HVAC ductwork to begin with, I always go with custom-split sheet metal HVAC duct.

However, there was a fine that came out of it. I had a fantastic realtor who noticed a ton of potential in my late Aunt’s house, so I needed to make a few straight-forward as well as quick modifications to increase the value to a price I had dreamed of. The realtor made a giant commission as well as would get several thousand in equity on top of the money I expected to earn before the handiwork started. I obtained a nice condo with a portion of the money, did the same thing with the same exact realtor, as well as now several years later, I own more than four properties. Before I rotate them out, I always renovate them for the sale Insuring the ductwork as well as central Heating, Ventilation, as well as A/C plan are in a working as well as safe condition is a large priority. Sporadically, this involves replacing or fixing the entire ventilation system. For years, I’ve installed the cheap plastic ductwork that’s usually called flex duct, which is similar to the bendy vent hose that goes on the back of your clothing dryer. Now, imagine wrapping it in insulation, while covering it with a thin layer of aluminum so it is still able to bend as well as contort in any direction you want. It’s cheap as well as straight-forward to install, but the longevity isn’t fantastic compared to ductwork made from sheet metal. A window AC unit is more efficient for my needs

I just moved my room into a sunroom, because my mom just had hip surgery and needs to be with someone most days now.

Since she was living in a small one bedroom condo before, converting my sunroom was the only option I had if I wanted her to be in the same house with me.

The whole project took me some time plus a bit of careful plus meticulous planning, but transitioning the room was mostly straightforward. I had plastic windows that desperately needed replaced with storm proof, double pane glass windows. I also needed to replace the aluminum frame that my outdated windows connected to, and I added a drop ceiling to conceal the ugly aluminum overhead. I even added modern light fixtures before I finished with the current ceiling. The floor wasn’t hard to tackle, since it had a well-sealed concrete finish already. All I added was some english cement plus now it looks amazing. My final task was cooling plus heating this current space better. I knew some friends who undertook a similar project as me, plus only added an opening for a vent above their sliding glass door that distinguished the room from the rest of their house. This wasn’t my favorite idea, because without ductwork connected to the vent, I would have no air stream to push the frigid air into my warm sunroom. I tried a portable air conditioner in the beginning, but the unit I obtained was noisy plus seemed inefficient when I received my electricity bill after I struggled to keep that room at a livable and comfortable temperature. I would have never known that a window air conditioning unit would solve our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C needs. However, after some searching, I found one unit that fit perfectly in one of the windows in the new room. It’s not as noisy as the portable air conditioner plus it seems way more effective at cooling the former sunroom.

The window air conditioning system cools better

My parents just moved into my sunroom that we converted into a small bedroom.

My parents are elderly in addition to needs some help now that they’re older.

Since they live in a one bedroom, one bathroom house anyway, converting the sunroom was the only I had if I wanted them to stay with me for the time being. The project took me some time in addition to a bit of careful in addition to meticulous work, however transitioning the sunroom was simple. I had plastic windows that needed to be replaced with better storm proof, double pane glass windows. I also replaced the aluminum frame that my old windows linked to, then added a better drop ceiling to cover the ugly aluminum overhead. I even installed a better light fixture before I completed the ceiling replacement. The floor wasn’t hard to do, since it had a well-sealed concrete finish already, so I just added italian stone in addition to now it looks amazing. My biggest task was finding an efficient cooling in addition to heating this up-to-date space. I knew some friends who undertook a similar project in addition to simply added a small opening for a vent above the french door that separated their sunroom from the rest of their house. I didn’t love this idea, because without ductwork linked to the small vent, there would be no air stream to push the freezing air into the sizzling sunroom. I tried a portable air conditioning system at first, however the equipment I bought was way too loud in addition to seemed inefficient when I compared my electricity bills after I struggled to keep the sunroom at a livable temperature, let alone a comfortable one. I would’ve never assumed that a window air conditioning system would solve our Heating in addition to Air Conditioning needs. After some digging, I found a system that fits perfectly in one of the windows, which isn’t as loud as the portable air conditioning system in addition to it seems at least double as effective at cooling the former sunroom.

My window cooling system does a better job

I recently moved my bedroom into a sunroom.

My father is elderly and needs extra help while he recovers from his hip surgery.

He lives by himself right now, so converting my sunroom was the only choice I had if I wanted him to sleep at my house. The project took a little bit of time and a bit of meticulous and careful work, but transitioning the sunroom was mostly straightforward. Originally, I had plastic windows that needed updated with storm proof, double pane glass windows. Then, I updated the aluminum frame that my outdated windows attached to, then added a low ceiling to cover the ugly aluminum overhead. I even installed new light fixtures before I finished with the ceiling. The floor wasn’t hard either, since it had a good finish already. Then, I added italian tile and I think it looks amazing. However, the hardest part was the cooling and heating system for the sunroom. I knew some people who completed a similar project and they simply added an opening for a single vent above the sliding glass door that separated their room from the rest of their house. This wasn’t good for me, because without an HVAC duct attached to the vent, there was no air stream to push the chilly air into the moderate sunroom. I installed a portable cooling system at first, but the unit I originally purchased was extremely loud and seemed inefficient when I looked at my next electricity bill, after I hardly kept the room at a livable temperature for the two of us. I would’ve never known that a window cooling system would solve the Heating and Air Conditioning needs I had. After some searching, I found a different unit that fits perfectly in my window. It is not as loud as the portable cooling system, plus it seems to be working way better than the other AC system.

My window a/c unit gets cooler than my outdated portable unit

I just moved into a sunroom that my wife and I converted into a third bedroom.

My mom is getting old plus needs some help everyday.

Since she was living in a one bedroom, one bathroom home, converting the sunroom was the only choice we had for accommodating her in our home. The project took awhile plus a bit of careful plus meticulous work, however transitioning the room was simple enough. She had plastic windows that were replaced with storm proof, double pane glass windows. My wife and I replaced the aluminum frame that the outdated windows connected to, then installed a drop ceiling to cover the ugly aluminum overhead. We even added some light fixtures before finishing the new ceiling. The floor wasn’t difficult either, since it had a well-sealed concrete finish already. We added new stone plus now it looks amazing. However, there was the taxing idea of cooling plus heating this new space. My wife and I knew some people who undertook a similar project and they only added an opening for a vent above their sliding glass door that connected the room for the rest of their house. This wasn’t ideal, because without proper ductwork connected to the vent, there isn’t an air stream to push the chilly air into our hot sunroom. We tried a portable a/c unit at first, however the equipment we purchased was too loud plus seemed inefficient when we got our electricity bill. We would’ve never guessed that a window a/c unit would solve our Heating as well as Air Conditioning desires. After some searching, we found the best equipment that fits perfectly in one of the windows of our new living room. It is not as loud as the portable a/c unit plus it seems like it’s twice as effective at cooling the former sunroom.

My window air conditioner gets my room colder than my old portable

I just moved into a sunroom that we converted into a second bedroom.

My mother is elderly and needs some help while she recovers from hip surgery.

Since she lives in a one bedroom, one bathroom condo, converting the sunroom was the only choice we had if I wanted a room for sleeping that wasn’t the pull out couch in the living room. The project took some time and a bit of careful and meticulous work, but transitioning the room was mostly straightforward. She had plastic windows that we replaced with storm proof, double pane glass windows. We replaced the aluminum frame that the old windows attached to, then added a drop ceiling to cover the ugly aluminum overhead. I even added a few light fixtures before I finished the new ceiling. The floor wasn’t hard, since it had a well-sealed concrete finish already. We added spanish tile and now it looks amazing. But still, there was the difficult task of cooling and heating this new space. I knew some people who undertook a similar project and simply added an opening for a vent above the sliding glass door that separates the room from the rest of the house. This wasn’t ideal, because without ductwork attached to the vent, there is no air stream to push the cold air into the warm sunroom. I tried a portable air conditioner at first, but the machine I bought was extremely loud and seemed inefficient when we looked at the electricity bill after I struggled to keep the room at a livable temperature, let alone a comfortable one. I would have never guessed that a window air conditioner would solve my HVAC needs. After some searching, I found a machine that fits perfectly in one of the windows in my new bedroom. It’s not as loud as the portable air conditioner and it seems at least twice as effective at cooling the former sunroom.
