I just watched a documentary about this band called Bang Tango, which was pretty depressing, because they weren’t ever that famous but the lead singer is still trying to tour some 35 years later.

His voice is gone from too many years of partying but he keeps going on stage and trying to sing, which usually ends up with him holding the mic out for the audience to sing for him.

Some of these old dirt rockers just can’t let go of the past and so they keep chasing the rainbow but never to reach it. I’m happy doing HVAC tech work at the local HVAC company and playing with my band on the streets just for fun and not chasing anything. This guy from Tango is just lost and doesn’t know what else to do because he’s been doing this since he was a teenager. I know a couple of heating reps who are like this with volleyball still, trying to chase the pro circuit even though their best days have come and gone. They would be better off just cleaning ductwork and putting the volleyball career in the rearview once and for all. Life is like a movie and all of the characters make the movie and it wouldn’t be a great movie without the failures and success stories all wrapped up together. I fall somewhere in the middle with my HVAC business that was semi successful and my music which is mediocre at best, but at least I am still chugging along and enjoying the ride for the most part. Today is Tuesday and it looks like my associate and I have a rainy one going on outside.

I will go out in a few minutes and see what is happening out there today.

I bet it is pretty quiet though because when it is rainy like this most of the tourists stay condo and don’t visit our town. And during the weekdays it is quieter here because all the people are working or going to university. My friend and I may play some music later but it depends on the weather and if it is going to rain on us or not. It’s cooling down a bit as my associate and I have a cool front coming through and I am entirely thinking about running the boiler for a bit to take the chill out of the air! My cats just had their morning meal and are now both asleep on the sofa, which is right here in front of me while I work in my office with the door open to see them. They like to sleep near the air purification system because the humming sound makes them feel safe, and the HEPA filter inside of it is great for me because it removes a lot of the stuff floating around in the air in the flat. I will teach yoga to a student later this afternoon and then maybe play some drums and sing a bit with my bandmate. I need to see if he is working at the heating dealership today or not and what time he can play when he is done doing his duct cleaning task, if he works today that is.
