I live in an area with terribly long & drastic Winter time seasons.
All of us often start up the oil furnace in early November & depend on it until the end of April.
Because of temperatures well below zero, every one of us need to keep the household sealed up & remain indoors. I spend a small fortune on heating bills & make sure to take very excellent care of the oil furnace. I change the air filter every single month & hire professional maintenance every fall. Since even the fall & Springtime seasons are often frigid & wet, it’s seldom possible to open up the windows. I look forward to the warmer weather. I am always relieved to shut down the oil furnace & welcome some fresh air inside. The last thing I want to do is close the windows back up, start up the central air conditioning & spend our money on a costly electric bill. My family spends the majority of the hot season outside. All of us tend to only come back inside for dinner & to sleep. We’re able to get by with window air conditioning devices & box fans. Although having cooling devices in the windows isn’t especially attractive, these systems are not very expensive plus they are convenient. I was able to purchase a top-of-the-line window air conditioning device for under $200. I can install the unit into the window in less than a few minutes. Most modern window air conditioning devices allow programmable operation. I have the units set up to cycle on shortly before we actually head to bed at night. Despite the small size, these units are powerful enough to cool the room down within a couple of minutes. Even during those tepid & sticky Summer evenings, every one of us can sleep comfortably.
