Is the AC unit really that old

My grandmother vows that she has the first window air conditioning unit ever made.

I don’t know if that is a true statement, but it is definitely old. It vaguely resembles the window air conditioning units that we use, but it is totally different. She told me that the air conditioning unit was bought by her father in the early thirties. She also said that it cost a huge amount of money. I’m sure that if it was bought then or anywhere near that time, it had to be very expensive. I couldn’t believe they had air conditioning units back then. She said that people would come to their home, just to look at the unit. They wanted to feel the cool air even if it was the middle of winter. She still has the air conditioning unit serviced, once a year. I know she has done something right, because it has been over eighty years now, and that air conditioner still blows out some amazingly cool air and it isn’t even loud. That shocks me because my window air conditioning unit can be annoying. She told me that when she passes, the window air conditioning unit is going to be mine. She said that if I decided to sell the AC unit, I could probably have enough money to last me for the rest of my life. I don’t know about that, but if the AC unit ever needs repairs or parts, it will probably take the rest of my life to pay for it. I’m thinking more along the lines of giving it to a museum.
