This last hurricane affected our city more than every one of us thought ahead of immediate landfall.

I guess I should be prepared for these situations living & working in this region for 12 months out of the year, however I’d be a liar if I claimed to remember hurricane season every time it returns in late summer.

I don’t guess if I’m in the minority with that stance either—most of us hope for the best every year even if every one of us are forced to prepare for the worst. I should have been more mindful when I saw reports in June that predicted an active hurricane season in the Atlantic ocean. When the recent storm formed in the oceans between Africa & the caribbean islands, it seemed at first love it would stall out & curve northward & land safely in the remote center regions of the Atlantic. Instead, it grew to a hurricane in 24 fourths & kept gaining strength as it neared to the USA. As I was readying our supplier just fourths ahead of expected landfall, I was hoping that preparations wouldn’t be necessary, however I’m ecstatic I did the bare minimum. The storm pummelled our county at style 4 strength winds, destroying much in its path. My building wasn’t destroyed, however the facility that houses our steam boiler was ripped apart. That meant needing a modern commercial steam boiler as hastily as possible, but I didn’t have the money on hand & I would be stuck waiting for our insurance agent to process the claim.
